Global Arts Projects, "Painting the Planet"

  • Description: "Painting the Planet" encompasses a series of global art themes linked through technology. The galleries and exhibitions provide a forum to publish students work and to come to understand the culture and situation of young artists across the globe. A number of projects collaborate with Painting the Planet. Among them, Beauty of the Beasts, Colouring our Culture, Global Art: A Sense of Caring, Super Hero Cartoon Art, Side by Side, and The Folktales Projects.

Global Children's Music Project

  • Description: Global Children's Music Project works to to collect authentic "traditional" songs, words, cultural information, pictures of culture and national dress, traditional and non-traditional instruments, simple instructions for games and dances, eventually digital samples for sound modules of instruments, and teacher/student related resource links for building a virtual music library. Participants are asked to submit at least one song, (either by MP3, .WAV or audio cassette format) with as much cultural information as possible, an identifying picture (logo) for the song, the written words, a loose translation in English (not to be sung in English) and other information possible for the website page.

Joys of Music Project

  • Description: The main goal of the project is to organize all submissions chronologically in order to create a short history of Music, asking the participants to indicate the epoch to which they refer. Participants may write short essays about their favorite composer or styles in music- baroque, romantic, and modern, or their favorite contemporary music group or singer, about new styles such as: house, hip-hop, techno, punk, heavy metal, rap, reggae or pop. Also, any essay about national or folk music is welcome.

School World Culture Centre

  • Description: This project enables schools to write, describe and promote cultures in their part of the world by becoming involved with their local culture and traditions. Students use basic research skills and write about (and provide if possible) samples of music, folklore, cooking and games so that other schools can participate. School World encourages the entire school to become involved with this project. School World Tek teachers are available for those with limited experience.
